Theater in the valley is changing, and in change there is hope;
this is what we as artists strive to do... not create false hope but dig
as hard and deep as we can to find the best part of human beings.

M&D Productions is on the cutting edge of this hope.
All of our events are performed as "Community-minded Theatre."
We only hire "local" actors, vendors, and ask for "local" support.
This makes us a true "Community Organization."

It is our goal to reach out to individuals and tickle their social conscience,

while raising some much needed money for various worthy causes.

M&D Productions, an IRS 501(c)-3 non-profit organization, is a unique "community theatre"
in that we perform plays on issues that effect us as human beings. Comedies and Drama alike.

Mark DeLancey

Managing Director

Born in Ohio and raised

in Pennsylvania, Mark had humble beginnings coming from a "steel forging town" outside of Pittsburgh.

Being one of a set of identical triplets, he began early

trying to set himself apart

from the others, by joining the Art Institute of Pittsburgh to become a Set Designer.

But only to throw himself

right back into the triplet mold by joining the Marine Corps with his brothers and creating

a worlds record as the first

set of triplets ever to do so.

After ten years of loyal

service, Mark decided to

take an early retirement, and with his partner moved to

Maui, Hawaii to continue his lifelong ambition of theatre.

While in Hawai'i, he became

an intrinsic part of the three main Theatre companies.

In 1999, armed with the idea that "theatre should make

a difference in peoples lives

and serve the community,"

Ken and Mark started

M&D Productions.

Ken Martin

Artistic Director

One of the Founders of

M&D Productions, Ken was

born in Maine and has lived in such places as Phoenix, San Diego and even Maui, Hawai'i, Ken calls Conway, NH home.

Having 13 generations in New England, it's easy to see why.

Ken started his career in theater

at the age of 17 as the lead in a Kennett High School production of "Godspell" in 1981.

He has vast experience as a graphic artist, and was the

Artistic Director of 6 magazines while living in California.

Ken met his partner Mark in California and together they moved to Maui. While there

they worked extensively

in theatre with

the Iao Theatre, Maui Arts and Cultural Center, Maui Academy of Performing Arts, Studio H'Poko and Theatre, Theatre Maui in Lahaina.

Upon returning to Conway

in 1999 and with the idea that theatre has a responsibility to educate as well a entertain,

Mark & Ken started

M&D Productions. The rest is,

as they say, history.

Christy Mackie-Hikel

Educational Director

Christy has been involved    with theatre for almost twenty years. As a teenager she

co-wrote and acted in a professional production for the Vancouver Theatre Company that ran for five years and travelled to five differnt countries.

Moving into TV and film Christy co-wrote an award winning TV series as well

being a member of a live TV improv show.

She missed theatre though

and starting teaching youth theatre groups in Vancouver and Washington State.

Christy is very excited in her current position as educational director for M&D Productions where she gets to share her love of theatre and the stage with valley residents.
